Lemongrass, also known as Barbed Wire Grass and Citronella Grass, is a tropical plant in the grass family that is native to Southeast Asia, India and Australia. Much like its botanical cousin, Citronella, lemongrass is an aromatic plant that is also used as a natural insect repellent, due to its natural volatile oils.
While lemongrass is most commonly cultivated for culinary use, it can also be found in the form of teas, herbal honeys and as an ingredient in skin care products.
