Wholesale Tea Strainers - Mesh
with handles, or on chains
Mesh tea strainers, also known as infusers and tea balls, are an English invention that gained wide popularity in the late 19th century. They provided an alternative to brewing an entire pot of tea when only one or two servings were desired, and a stylish way to contain and remove spent tea leaves from the tea cup. Up until the early 20th century, infusers and tea balls were considered household essentials, although many were mass produced by this time, others were abundantly ornate, crafted of silver and carried the marks of well-known manufacturers of the day, such as Tiffany.
